Content created with IA (Module 1: Artificial Intelligence and Design Thinking)

In this background, I want to show you my first refinements obtained through Artificial Intelligence! I feel very happy to learn new things using AI because I can improve the quality of the information I seek not only for my studies but also for my daily life. Also, I want to reveal to you how wonderful it is to use technology wisely and the benefits it has brought to me.

My journey into the world of artificial intelligence began with my first certification in an introduction to AI. I remember that I was enthusiastic to learn because I was curious about how I could ask the AI to do something for me. The teacher in charge of the specialization course gave his class on the topic and then showed us a code to generate the first certificate.

Then, I completed some Google Cloud Skills Boosts courses: https://www.cloudskillsboost.google/paths/118 as they were an “Introduction to Generative AI Learning Path”. Each of the courses gave me a badge to indicate that I had completed my learning path. Each course was very meaningful because it helped me to comprehend how to interact with an AI.

Following my learning path, I had the opportunity to create my first “Prompt” using Microsoft Copilot (Bing) which became my favorite tool because it provides reasonable quality in its replies and most of the resources are from suitable sources.

Here, I already felt more confident about how to politely interact with an AI and how I could continue examining other pages or apps to enhance academic and everyday aspects. I was already able to create a Prompt to provide me with an organized lesson plan with satisfactory information and activities to develop a class.

Dear visitor, let me share with you one of my favorite moments! That's when I created my Funko. The Teacher in charge of the course gave the class a Prompt model to create a Funko version of ourselves. I would never have imagined using an AI to create images of people. I was impressed; Now, I'm able to create Funko versions of someone else. However, the creation of a funko can modify certain characteristics of the person, but an image can be generated in acceptable conditions.

Another enjoyable activity I was able to do was a presentation using an AI website called “Gamma”. I was a little shocked to see that just by entering the theme name Gamma automatically generated a presentation with relevant content. I just had to check if the information was correct and if it was well written. This presentation was a complement to Nearpod, an ideal platform for uploading presentations and adding supplements such as video quizzes or educational games.

My learning in the world of artificial intelligence has been satisfactory because now I know how to ask an AI to generate a presentation.

During module 1, I also had the opportunity to work on a group activity. The activity consisted of creating a Prompt using AI. My group chose Chat GPT. We created a Prompt that would generate code for the program and create a PowerPoint presentation. It was a complicated activity due to the programming code. However, that day, I learned about how to ask an AI to take a role and how to generate a presentation on said topic.

Later, I could take three courses on the IBM SkillsBuild website: https://students-auth.skillsbuild.org/signup

These courses were quite ample but with quality content. The courses were  “Basic Concepts of the Enterprise Design Thinking Team for IA” and “Design Thinking Practitioner and Co-creator”. Each course was a mini training to know how I can apply “Design thinking” not only in the business area but also in the English language teaching area.

Finally, I did another group activity. The activity consisted of carrying out a “Design Thinking” project applying the main steps, which were empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Taste. I learned to apply each step for a real user since the project involved a user who had problems teaching the English language. I decided to include this project because it reflects what my group and I understood in classes.
